Community pays tribute to owner of Nervous Records in Hinckley
The Hinckley community has paid tribute to the owner of Nervous Records, Gordon Hayes, who has sadly died.
Gordon Hayes had run the popular record shop in Hinckley for around 45 years
The shop was well known for having unique and rare vinyl records.
News of his death has spread on social media, with documentary page Hinckley, Burbage & Bosworth Photographed posting a tribute to the late-vinyl enthusiast on their page. Paul Hands, who runs the page, posted a photo of Gordon and wrote: “Rest in Peace Gordon, Nervous Records legend. Great to have met you.”
In 2019, Charles Wren Films made a short film telling the story of “Gordon’s little slice of musical paradise” – named as one of the best in the UK – and his deep love of music, especially on vinyl.
Another person on social media said: “Such a legend when it came to vinyl, think most of Hinckley probably visited at some point, certainly helped my collection over the years as did most, with rare demo’s, limited editions and nothing ever a problem to try and locate.
