A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car overturned and caught fire in Earl Shilton. Several emergency services were called to respond to the incident.
Police were alerted to the scene on Wood Street at approximately 1:29 a.m. today (Thursday, November 14), following reports of a collision. When officers arrived, they found a car had flipped over and was on fire.
Two fire engines from the Hinckley station of Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to the location. A fire service spokesperson stated that crews discovered the vehicle overturned and “fully ablaze.”
The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening or life-changing. Leicestershire Police confirmed that a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
