Man Arrested After Report of Hazardous Substance

A man has been arrested following a report of a potentially hazardous substance found in a home. Leicestershire Police responded to an address on Byron Street, Earl Shilton, on Tuesday, July 23.

According to a police spokesperson, it was reported that an occupant of the Byron Street address had also visited a property on Field View Close, Huncote, carrying a small amount of the “unknown powder.” For safety, cordons were established at both locations while officers conducted their investigations. The cordons in Earl Shilton were maintained throughout yesterday but have now been lifted.

The 39-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has been released on police bail. The investigation into the report is still in its early stages, the police spokesperson said.
