Temporary closure – Barwell Recycling and Waste site
Essential maintenance works and health and safety improvements are to take place at Barwell Recycling and Household Waste Site, including the installation of Rehome Zone. The works include groundwork, canopy installation and installation of secure containers which means the site will temporarily close for 3 weeks from 04.03.24 to 22.03.24.
You may be aware that Rehome Zones are drop off areas where residents can drop off items which can be reused, like a chest of draws, which would ordinarily be thrown away. The Rehome Zones are part of the Reuse Project which aims to divert items from waste to be reused, generating an income for the County Council. Rehome Zones are already installed at 5 sites across the county, and the aim is to have a dedicated Rehome Zone at every site.
