The Earl Shilton and Barwell Pantomime Company are set to bring a brand-new twist to a much-loved fairy tale this February, as they present their upcoming pantomime Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
This year’s production is set in a struggling circus built above a long-forgotten goldmine. With the big top in danger of closing and a colourful cast of dodgy characters hoping to get their hands on the gold for themselves, the stakes have never been higher. When rumours of hidden treasure begin to circulate, it’s up to Goldilocks to see if she can strike gold and save the circus before it’s too late.
Jenni Johnson, director of Stageworks Performance (aka the Earl Shilton and Barwell Pantomime Company), said: “Goldilocks and the Three Bears is such a familiar story, but we’ve had a lot of fun giving it a circus spin. The show is packed with laughter, music and all the traditional pantomime moments audiences love, with a few surprises thrown in along the way.”
As the story unfolds, audiences will discover how the three bears become caught up in the chaos of the circus ring, and whether Goldilocks can stay one step ahead of the villains who are determined to steal the gold. With slapstick comedy, larger-than-life characters, plus plenty of audience participation throughout, the production promises laughs from the moment the curtain goes up to the final bow.
Featuring colourful costumes, high-energy performances and a storyline that balances fairy tale charm with circus spectacular, Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a big top adventure for all the family.
Performances take place from Wednesday 18th to Saturday 21st February, with evening shows at 7pm each night and an additional 2pm matinee on Saturday 21st.
The show will be performed at Fusion Academy, 68 Moore Road, Barwell, LE9 8AG.
Tickets are priced at £7.50 for adults and £6 for concessions.
