A body has been found in Hinckley in the extensive search for missing 85-year-old Glenda Keal, who was last seen on Sunday afternoon.
Leicestershire Police confirmed that a report was received shortly after 8:40 am on Thursday, December 11, that the body of a woman had been discovered in the area of Brick Kiln Street in Hinckley.
Police Believe Body is Glenda Keal
Although formal identification is yet to be completed, officers believe the body is that of Glenda, who had been the subject of a major search operation since she was reported missing from Earl Shilton.
Glenda was last seen four days ago, on Sunday, December 7, at approximately 1:50 pm, on Hawley Road in Hinckley, walking towards Westfield Road. She had travelled from Earl Shilton on the number 158 bus before getting off in Hinckley town centre.
Search Efforts and Investigation
Police had been carrying out extensive searches across the western side of Hinckley, including follow-up enquiries to find further CCTV footage and physical evidence that could help establish her whereabouts.
Leicestershire Police has confirmed that the death is not believed to be suspicious, and a file is being prepared for HM Coroner.
“Glenda’s family are currently being supported by specialist officers and have asked for privacy at this difficult time,” a force spokesperson added.
