St Simon and St Jude C of E Primary School is celebrating another successful Ofsted inspection, conducted on 11 and 12 February 2025.
The report confirms that the school has continued to uphold the high standards identified in its previous inspection, with pupils thriving academically and personally in a nurturing and ambitious learning environment.
The inspectors praised the school’s high expectations for achievement and behaviour, noting that pupils rise to these expectations and “focus on their learning and achieve well.” The report highlights the exceptional behaviour of pupils and their respectful and welcoming attitude, stating that they “greet visitors warmly” and “demonstrate excellent behaviour throughout the school.”
Ofsted also commended the school’s ambitious and well-planned curriculum, which allows pupils to build knowledge progressively from early years to Year 6. Teachers ensure pupils are challenged and supported effectively, with the report noting that “pupils produce work of a high standard and achieve well.” The school’s strong focus on reading was particularly praised, with staff receiving high-quality training to ensure pupils develop their literacy skills effectively.
The school’s commitment to personal development was another key strength identified in the report. Pupils benefit from a wide range of leadership roles, extracurricular activities, and mental health support. Inspectors noted that the school “prioritises the well-being of pupils” and “teaches them to reflect on their emotions and behaviour, helping them become resilient and try their hardest.”
Executive Headteacher Rebecca Dolby-Molson expressed her pride in the report’s findings:
“I am incredibly proud of our pupils, staff, and wider school community. This report is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone at St Simon and St Jude. We strive to provide a nurturing, ambitious, and inspiring environment for our children, and it is wonderful to see this recognised by Ofsted.”
Dave Ellison-Lee, CEO of Rise Multi Academy Trust, also praised the school’s continued excellence:
“St Simon and St Jude is a shining example of a school that prioritises both academic achievement and personal development. The commitment of the staff, the engagement of the pupils, and the support from the wider school community are what make this school so special. We are thrilled with this outcome and look forward to continuing to support the school’s success.”
The school remains committed to maintaining these high standards and ensuring that every child receives the best possible education and support.
