A new online tool, The Leicestershire PA Noticeboard, has been launched to help residents with care and support needs continue to live independently at home. Developed by Leicestershire County Council in partnership with Possability People, this well-tested and user-friendly platform aims to connect individuals requiring assistance with Personal Assistants (PAs) who can provide essential care services.
The initiative follows the success of similar approaches implemented in other areas of the country. By offering a streamlined and accessible service, the noticeboard simplifies the process of finding the right PA for individual needs.
Positive Early Feedback
One resident, who participated in the testing phase before the platform’s launch, shared their experience of searching for a PA for their mother. They expressed their appreciation for the tool, stating:
“I recently had to find additional PAs for mum, and the site would have been very helpful, so I will definitely be using it in the future.”
Encouragement from Local Leaders
Councillor Christine Radford, cabinet member for adults and communities, emphasized the vital role of Personal Assistants in supporting individuals within their own homes and local communities. She acknowledged the challenges people face when searching for the right care provider and highlighted the benefits of the new noticeboard:
“Personal assistants play a vital role. They support people to live fulfilling and safe lives in their own home and local community, but as individuals’ requirements vary, it can be difficult to find the right person. We’ve worked with people who are providing care and those looking for assistance to create the website. It’s great to see it up and running, and I’d encourage people to visit the site and register.”

Those interested in registering as a PA or seeking care support can do so via the Leicestershire PA Noticeboard website. For individuals unable to sign up online, assistance is available through the Direct Payment Support Team, which can be contacted via email at dpsoemploymentsupport@leics.gov.uk.
With this innovative platform, Leicestershire County Council and Possability People are making it easier for residents to access the care they need while supporting Personal Assistants in finding suitable roles within the community.
