Fun Awaits at Rescheduled Burbage Common Open Day
After an unfortunate postponement earlier this year, the highly anticipated Burbage Common Open Day is back on the calendar, promising a fun-packed experience for all. Originally scheduled for May 19, the event was called off due to severe waterlogging at the Common. However, the wait is almost over, as the new date has been confirmed for Sunday, September 8.
The council’s event organisers have reassured the public that this year’s Open Day will be worth the wait, offering a variety of activities and attractions sure to appeal to everyone. Whether you’re keen to support local businesses at the farmer’s market, enjoy the excitement of a dog show, or marvel at the skill of a falconry display, there’s plenty to look forward to.
For those looking to get more hands-on, there will be opportunities to try out archery, or even build bug boxes and bird boxes. While entry to the event is free, some activities and workshops may carry a small charge.
Councillor Lynda Hodgkins, Executive Member for Parks, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, saying, “The annual Burbage Common Open Day is always a great day out for the whole family. There is something for everyone, so put the day in your diary and come along. We look forward to seeing you.”
The festivities will kick off at 10:30 AM and continue through the day until 4:30 PM. To ensure smooth traffic flow, a one-way car parking system will be implemented, so attendees are encouraged to plan their visit accordingly.
Don’t miss out on what promises to be a fantastic day at Burbage Common! Mark your calendars for September 8 and get ready for a day full of fun, community spirit, and outdoor enjoyment.
