Hinckley Council Launches Survey to Gather Community Input on Public Open Spaces

Hinckley Council has recently initiated a comprehensive survey, inviting residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to share their perspectives on the open public spaces throughout the borough. This initiative aims to gather up-to-date information to ensure that these spaces are accessible, high-quality, and meet the diverse needs of the local communities.

The collected responses will play a crucial role in shaping the new Local Plan and guiding future investment decisions. This effort is part of an ongoing strategy to maintain and enhance the borough’s open spaces.

A spokesperson from Hinckley Hub emphasized the multifaceted value of public open spaces, stating, “Public open spaces provide opportunities for sport and recreation, socializing, tourism, and wildlife, making an important contribution to the health and wellbeing of communities, ecosystems, and economies.”

It is important to note that the survey will not cover formal sport provisions, such as tennis and football clubs, as these are addressed separately through the ‘Playing Pitch Study’.

Residents and other interested parties are encouraged to participate in the survey to ensure their voices are heard. The survey is accessible online and must be completed by Friday, 26 July.
