Poundstretcher Returns to Hinckley with Grand Opening of New Store

Poundstretcher, a beloved discount retailer, is making a triumphant return to Hinckley with the grand opening of its new store next week. The store will be located in the former flagship Wilko discount store within the Britannia Shopping Centre. This exciting development comes after the property was put up for rent in late December, signaling a new chapter for retail in the area.

Excitement is building as contractors were seen busy at work inside the unit, focusing on setting up the tills and enhancing the main entrance area. Notices posted on the shop windows confirm that Poundstretcher is actively hiring for various positions for the new store, which is set to open its doors next Wednesday.

The grand opening is scheduled for 13th March 2024 at 10 am, promising a festive atmosphere filled with activities and opportunities for shoppers. Ian the Entertainer will be hosting games and activities, offering shoppers the chance to win £250 worth of Poundstretcher shopping vouchers. Additionally, a ‘Charity Trolley Dash’ will be held to benefit a local charity, where participants can fill their trolleys with products within a minute.

Shahid Kissay, Regional Director of Poundstretcher, expressed excitement about the grand opening, stating, “We are glad to announce that we are back in the town less than a year with our grand opening of new Poundstretcher and Pet Hut store in Hinckley, following a successful transformation of the seventh Wilko location within a few weeks!”
