Competitor dies at Mallory Park Circuit
Tragedy struck at Mallory Park Circuit in Leicestershire as a man lost his life during a race event.
Real Motorsport Limited, the operators of Mallory Park, conveyed in an official statement that a competitor lost his life due to injuries sustained in a racing incident on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
The incident occurred during the second race of the day at the Mallory Park circuit, where a single-day race event organized by the Vintage Sports Car Club was taking place. Despite the dedicated efforts of the medical personnel on site, the man could not be saved.
In adherence to established protocols, appropriate authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances.
The Vintage Sports Car Club has been hosting this event at Mallory Park for several years, featuring vintage machinery predating 1918. The event marked the culmination of the group’s racing season.
The Motorsport UK organization, in solidarity, released a statement online, expressing their condolences and empathy. They stated, “Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his family, friends, fellow members of the Vintage Sports-Car Club, and the entire motorsport community.” Motorsport UK has initiated a comprehensive inquiry into the incident and pledged collaboration with the Vintage Sports-Car Club and relevant authorities throughout the investigation.
