Homes approved on land set aside for Heath Lane Surgery expansion

Nine homes are to be built behind a doctor’s surgery on land originally earmarked for the clinic’s expansion. The houses will sit on a site behind Heath Lane Surgery in Earl Shilton after plans by Cadeby Homes were approved by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council.

The land, along with more than £50,000, was given to the surgery by Avant Homes. Works to extend the clinic and car park, giving the surgery the capacity for 5,000 more patients in addition to the almost 15,000 already on its books, has been completed, leaving some unused land.

 Planning officers said the surgery could still be expanded further in future by building a first floor, and the surgery now has a ‘substantial’ car park.
