Building Fire | Station Road – Cannabis plants found
Emergency services sent to the scene of a double house fire in Earl Shilton found cannabis growing inside.
At the scene, fire crews and police discovered cannabis plants in the property and promptly made a series of arrests.
A force spokeswoman confirmed three men – aged 32, 40 and 65 – were in police custody. She said: “Three people have been arrested after a fire was discovered in a property in Station Road in Earl Shilton.
Firefighters are this morning (Monday, May 22) battling a blaze that has engulfed at least two homes in Earl Shilton.
There do not appear to be any casualties reported at the incident in Earl Shilton. According to initial reports received by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service at 2:21am, a ceiling had caught alight in a residential property in Station Road, Earl Shilton. Two fire engines were dispatched to the scene.
By 3.20am, fire services had two appliances on site from Hinckley fire station, one from Western station, one from Southern station, a command support vehicle from Wigston station, and an aerial appliance from Birstall station.
