New location in Hinckley to be patrolled by mobile speed camera vans.
Speeding will be monitored at seven new county locations where residents say their lives have been “blighted” by drivers racing through their neighbourhoods. The spots, including locations in Market Harborough, Hinckley and Shepshed, will be monitored until 2024 in a bid to stop the problem.
Jonathan Clarkson, Road Safety Partnership spokesperson, said: “Many local residents feel their lives blighted by the anti-social effects of excessively speeding traffic through their communities. In response to this, detailed covert traffic speed surveys are undertaken and if a particular location meets the LLRRSP criteria it will become a community concern site and will benefit from regular speed camera van visits.”
